Bawumia Will Not Be Happy Hearing Jean Mensa’s Recent Comments About The 2024 Elections
Bawumia will not be happy hearing Jean Mensa’s recent comments about the 2024 elections.
In the 2018 elections, Mahamudu Bawumia wants to become Ghana’s first Muslim president in the Fourth Republic. He and Matthew Opoku Prempeh are working hard to keep the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in power. But first, they need to beat John Dramani Mahama, the former president from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). Mahama is trying to improve his reputation since he’s the only president of this era to have served just one term.
Jean Mensa visited Parliament to update them on the Electoral Commission’s readiness for the December elections. She assured that the elections would be fair and transparent. The NDC has criticized the Electoral Commission for allegedly favoring the NPP in past elections. When asked about transparency, Jean Mensa said she would face divine consequences if found guilty of rigging. She emphasized that neither the president nor his family can influence her decisions. Jean Mensa promised to uphold the principles of fairness and to ensure the will of the people is respected. She also mentioned that media will report the election results, so no one can change them, not even the president. The Electoral Commission will train party agents to avoid complaints after the election.
