We Will Be Better Off With Dumsor Than Dum Sie Sie… – Albert Dwumfour, GJA President

The President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Mr. Albert Dwumfour, has made a startling remark on the current erratic power supply in Ghana.
In an interview on Star 103.5 FM morning show, he stated that Ghanaians would be better off with Dumsor than Dum-siesie (the current unpredictable power outages).
According to him, during the Dumsor era, the government would provide a timetable for planned outages, allowing citizens to plan their lives accordingly.
However, Mr. Dwumfour lamented that the current situation is different.
With Dum-siesie, power outages occur unexpectedly, leaving citizens in a state of uncertainty and frustration.

He emphasized that as journalists, they serve as a bridge between the governed and the governor, providing information to the public about government policies and initiatives.
The President’s remarks highlighted the significant impact of the power outages on media houses, businesses, and individuals.
He pointed out that not all media houses can afford to purchase high-powered generators and other equipment necessary to continue their work during power outages.
This, he said, hinders their ability to serve the public effectively.
Mr. Dwumfour’s comments have sparked a heated debate on social media, with many Ghanaians agreeing with his sentiments.
The erratic power supply has indeed caused significant disruptions to daily life, with many businesses and individuals struggling to cope with the frequent outages.
The Ghana Journalists Association President’s remarks also touched on the need for the government to take immediate action to address the issue.
He emphasized that the power outages have a ripple effect on various sectors of the economy, including media, business, and individual lives.
Mr. Dwumfour’s comments serve as a stark reminder of the need for urgent action to address the power crisis in Ghana.
As journalists and citizens alike wait for a solution to this pressing issue, it is essential that we continue to hold our leaders accountable for finding a lasting solution to this problem.
