PRESEC emerge winners of GIS competition

The GIS competition is a quiz or contest which is meant to commemorate and celebrate the GIS(Geographic Information Systems) day.
The Geographic Information Systems(GIS) day is celebrated every 16th of November every year since its debut in 1999.
It is used to celebrate the introduction of the spatial analytics technology used for capturing, storing, checking, and displaying data as well as creating, managing, analysing and mapping all types of data.
Even though the award ceremony for 2021’s quiz was held last Thursday at the Department of Geography and Resource Development of the University of Ghana, it still took place on November 17 as scheduled but was virtual.
22 schools took part out of the 33 that were expected to do so.
The main areas of coverage included; Human and Physical Geography, Map interpretation, GIS applications and general knowledge in geography.
The Presbyterian Boys Senior High School(PRESEC) won the competition with Bawku and Kpando Senior High schools as runners up.
