John Dumelo loses to Lydia Alhassan in Ayawaso West Wuogon
Actor-turned-politician John Dumelo’s hope of serving in Parliament under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been dashed for the next four years, having lost to Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party, current Member of Parliament.
Certified election commission results indicate 37.778 votes against Lydia Alhassan’s 39.851 for NDC candidates. The National People’s Congress (PNC) Gifty Botchway and Richard Amegasse, independent nominee, managed 160 and 108 votes respectively.

Complete votes cast were 77,604, and 595 votes were invalid.
