Police Restores Calm At Adoagyiri Following Disturbances Among Youth Groups

In a press release published by the public affairs unit of the Eastern South Regional Command, it is stated that the Ghana Police Service team in the area was able to restore calm in the area following some clashes between some youth groups in the town.
According to the police, these youth groups, numbering about 300, blocked the road, bent tires, and vandalized some shops and vehicles that were in the vicinity.
Due to this, the National Police Headquarters and the National Formed Police Unit were deployed to the area and successfully brought the situation under control.
Investigations from the police so far have it that on the 20th of May, 2025, there was a shooting incident at Adoagyiri that resulted in the death of one person.
One of the victims, named Issah Masawudu, died at the hospital. Following his death, the youth of Adoagyiri Zongo went on a rampage, leading to the disturbances.
Ghana Police Arrest Suspect For Unlawful Possession Of Weapon
Investigations are still ongoing to get all those involved arrested to face the law.
