Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to Pay Homage to Ga Mantse on June 9

The Office of the Ga Mantse has announced the schedule for the official visit of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to the Ga State.

The visit marks a major milestone in the history of the two kingdoms, and is set to take place on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

According to Nii Boi Abbey, the leader of the planning committee, the visit will be crowned with a special durbar hosted by Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, at the forecourt of the Ga Mantse’s Palace in Kaneshie, Accra, at 11 am.

The durbar is expected to be a grand celebration of the strong ties of friendship between the Ga and Asante people.

The visit is a testament to the long-standing interactions between the two kingdoms, which have led to the exchange of cultural practices, traditions, and ideas.

Interestingly, the interactions between the Ga and Ashanti people over the centuries have culminated in common themes in areas such as governance, inclusiveness, and cultural practices.

The similarities highlight the strong ties between the Asante and Ga people, which are rooted in their shared African heritage.

The durbar will also be used to promote peace ahead of the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections in December this year.

The Office of the Ga Mantse invites all to witness this great moment in Ghanaian traditional history at the forecourt of the Ga Mantse’s Palace in Kaneshie, Accra, at 11 am on Sunday, June 9.

In related news, it was announced that the Ga Mantse’s participation in the Asantehene’s recent celebration of his 25th anniversary on the throne was a significant milestone in strengthening relationship between the two kingdoms.

The visit is a reciprocal gesture of goodwill and friendship between the two monarchs.
