In the wake the heightened tensions in the country prior to the 2020 elections, the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Ghana’s third largest political party has pledged its commitment to a decent campaign ahead of the elections.
This was contained in a press release copied to all media houses across the country. The letter also shows the party’s worry at how things are going currently and expresses concern on how these activities could show or repeat themselves on election day. “We are mostly worried about heightened tensions that usually characterize elections in the country and we envisage same happenings in the 7th December, 2020 polls which is few days ahead of us”, the release said.
According to the party, tensions might be high but Ghana must be put first. It said “We are aware the stakes are high but it must be emphasized that we should look to the bigger picture and put Ghana first, after all, we are one people and one nation”.
