I removed my womb to live – Nollywood Actress
The ever charming Nollywood Actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim has revealed that she can never give birth because she has no womb. She was not born without it but rather, she was advised to remove her uterus by a doctor. This according to her was to make her live a normal life.
In an interview with the Guardian, Nse Ikpe-Etim said she has come to terms with the situation and also thanked the husband for being supportive all this time.
She said; “I was told I couldn’t have kids. This single message implied that she had to have her uterus taken off thus removed though help her prevent some happenings she was going through.
In her advice to women, she said, there was nothing wrong with not being able to give but and that, women should be concerned with what they can offer the world.
In her won worlds she said
“And I’m literarily telling women and men, it really doesn’t matter if you can’t bear children. What really matters is what you would do for the world, for the universe.”
According to the ever-charming Nollywood Actress, she broke down in tears when the doctor told her the reality and her faith. At that moment, the husband squeezed her hand which reassured her of hope.
She said; “Tears dropped and then my husband squeezed my hand. It was reassuring there was someone there and it was telling me that this is a reality, my reality.”
From the onset, she was not happy with it because African society expects every woman to bear children and be a mother. She shared instances where people asked her “You never born” meaning, have you still not given birth? She thanked God that such questions did not break her down.
Today, actress Nse Ikpe-Etim is living a happy normal life haven accepted her faith and moved on with life.
