The Electoral Commission of Ghana has published a list of districts in Ghana which have been affected by duplicate voter ID Cards.
Information on District with Duplicate Voters contained in a press release from the Electoral Commission in which the EC diffused allegations from sections of social media that EC officials were printing cards for people illegally.
The commission said, “During the just-ended Registration Exercise, few Centres experienced the production of duplicate ID cards which resulted from Registration Kits bearing the same codes.
This led to the printing of Voter ID cards with similar numbers for different persons.
The Commission is therefore replacing the duplicate cards for the affected persons. As such, the cards in the video belong to those persons with duplicate Voter ID numbers. They were authorized by the Commission, printed at the Headquarters and subsequently sent to the District Offices for lamination and distribution.”
They advised Ghanaians to disregard such false claims and propaganda.
The release went on to publish the names of districts affected by the said duplicate ID cards.
